The long-time battle between Sheetz and Wawa may be coming to a head, as the Altoona-based grocer eyes a Limerick location in the heart of Wawa territory, writes Andrew Limberg for KDKA.
The Western and Eastern Pennsylvania brands have largely avoided opening locations on each other’s turf – until now.
“Sheetz can confirm it is interested in building a store at the intersection of Ridge Pike and Swamp Pike but it is too early in the process to provide further details,” said Nick Ruffner, Public Affairs Manager for Sheetz.
Wawa already has a store not far from the intersection, on West Ridge Pike.
If Sheetz goes ahead with its plans, the competition between the two rivals could get heated!
Both chains are known for their delicious food menu, great coffee, and much more.
