As the newest NFL head coach to join the ranks as a Super Bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni is sharing his experiences and tips for finding success, writes Jessica Schrader for Psychology Today.
“You can’t be great without the greatness of others” is a motto that Sirianni has repeated numerous times throughout the season.
To this degree, he and the team operated through collaboration as opposed to personal competition among each other.
This approach is in line with concepts that the positive psychology field connect with strong leadership.
Teamwork was a key factor in the Eagles’ success this season.
Everyone from Sirianni, to Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and the rest had a role to play, and each of them played it well with the team at the forefront rather than their individual self.
Grit and perseverance also greatly helped the Eagles this past season.
It was those characteristics that helped the team overcome a 2-2 start before rattling off 10 straight wins thereafter.
Having gratitude is another key to success.
After the super Bowl win, Sirianni notably thanked God, the players, coaches, the entire Eagles franchise, and the fans.
Putting this all together helped the Eagles become Super Bowl champions.
