If You Enjoy Hank’s Cinnamon Buns, Thank Delaware County Native Ron Davis

Hank's Cinnamon Buns continue to grow in popularity created by Delaware County native Ron Davis.

Hank’s Cinnamon Buns, fresh from the oven, are a popular commodity at area farmers markets.

They come from Ron Davis, a self-taught baker from Delaware County, writes Jenn Ladd for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Hank’s Cinnamon Buns is an Instagram-based micro bakery run by Davis.

The name comes from Davis’ alias, Hank McCoy when he was recording and producing as a DJ.

A weekend business five years ago has turned into a full-time job.

He runs through 400 to 500 pounds of dough each week, using a West Chester commissary kitchen as he sends out hundreds of buns for weekly farmers’ markets and home delivery.

Davis has always loved to bake. He had a recipe from his mom for devil’s food cake when he was still in elementary school.

The cinnamon buns came later, during the pandemic, at the request of his wife, Roxy.

“She just one day was like, ‘Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorites. Can you give it a try?” Davis remembered, “So I made them for the first time, and she immediately said, ‘You need to sell these.’”

With a posting on Instagram, the eggy brioche buns became an immediate hit.
