Gather Food Hall & Bar, a 13,000-square-foot food hall, is planned to open at Schuylkill Yards in the fall, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new food hall will have six local vendors, in addition to a bar.
The opening of the food hall will be an evolution of Brandywine Realty Trust’s initial plans, which was to operate it as a location of Urbanspace. The New York-based public market developer was to feature 16 local and national food and beverage vendors within its 14,000-square-feet.
The Gather Food Hall & Bar will be run and curated by Akhtar Nawab, a New York chef and restaurateur’s Brooklyn-based consulting and management group, Hospitality HQ. The group plans to minimize entry barriers for its vendor partners at Gather Food Hall and offer a mentorship program for small businesses to test their food concept and gain insight from regional chefs.
Philadelphia-based Gather Food Hall Management and Hospitality HQ are partnering on the concept, and helping emerging culinary entrepreneurs address food insecurity in college students.
