Luxury fashion company Aritzia has opened its first Philadelphia location on the 1700 block of Walnut Street in Center City, writes Michaela Althouse for PhillyVoice.
This opening is significant, as it comes in the midst of several recent retail store closings in the area, such as Macy’s, Vans, and the North Face.
Aritzia is open seven days a week, and shoppers will have the option to do in-person shopping, pick up online orders, and make personal styling appointments.
A number of brands will be available, including Wilfred Free, Sunday Best, Citizens of Humanity, and New Balance.
The building currently housing the new Aritzia store falls in between two other luxury clothing retailers — Madewell and Reformation. The space was a Borders Bookstore until 2003. Since then, it has housed Ann Taylor, the Loft, Steve Madden, and most recently an H&M, which closed in 2020 due to the pandemic.
In addition to the new Aritzia store, the block is also anticipating the opening of a new Abercrombie store, which is scheduled to replace the former Vans store later this year.
