Two West Chester Women Launch Mobile Bar with Top-Notch Bartender Service

Joann Fisher and Carolyn Dunkel, two West Chester women, launched Copper Pony, a mobile bar offering top-notch bartending service.

Joann Fisher and Carolyn Dunkel, two West Chester women who recently turned 60, launched Copper Pony, a mobile bar offering top-notch bartending service and a carefully curated alcohol menu, writes Melissa Jacobs for the Main Line Tonight.

To do this the pair, who have deep ties to both the local equestrian community and hospitality business, transformed a well-used horse trailer into a fully equipped party bar.

While for some, owning a mobile bar might seem like a strange career move for two women at their age, Dunkel and Fisher do not mind.

“We are first-time business owners and, while being entrepreneurs is not easy, we are loving the challenge,” said Dunkel. “We aren’t fading at all. We’re here and love what we are doing.”

Renovating the trailer was not easy, but the two business partners wanted something authentic. The completed version truly shines with the help of a tin ceiling with brushed copper accents, a Corian counter, shelves, and a door created using salvaged wood.

Copper Pony can be hired for parties and other events, and has already served private events at Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova and Thorncroft Equestrian Center in Malvern.
