Gov. Josh Shapiro visited Adare Pharma Solutions’ new headquarters in Northeast Philadelphia, where he highlighted the state’s investment in economic development, writes Harrison Cann for City & State Pennsylvania.
The drug development and manufacturing company recently relocated its headquarters from New Jersey to Philadelphia. Adare received $2.9 million in state support for expanding its existing Philadelphia facilities and relocating its headquarters. The move is expected to create 115 new jobs over the next three years.
“When it came down to it, I live in Wayne and much of our team is here,” said Tom Sellig, CEO of Adare. “We had two great sites here, but more importantly, I think about access to a highly-skilled workforce and a range of employees, a large metropolitan area in a good geographic area, and (a) home to many great colleges and universities.”
The Shapiro administration along with local officials toured the expanded facility last Friday morning.
During a press conference, Shapiro said that Adare’s growth is a testament to the commonwealth’s opportunities and that Pennsylvania should get used to doing “big things again.”
Shapiro praised how Pennsylvania is becoming a life sciences hub.
