Here is Your Neighborhood Guide to Living in Center City West

Center City West has transformed into one of Philadelphia's most magnificent neighborhoods, with its retail, dining, housing, and more.

While Center City is the economic, business, cultural, and residential heart of Philadelphia, Center City West includes the neighborhood that is the epicenter for metropolitan living, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia Magazine.

That neighborhood is Rittenhouse Square. It’s home to more high-rise residential towers than anywhere else in Philadelphia and also has some of the city’s toniest addresses.

Center City West is also home to Fitler Square and Logan Circle. While the latter is home to many of the city’s museums, both serve as the gateway to the Schuylkill riverfront.

Over the past century, those three neighborhoods all went from modest to magnificent.

At Rittenhouse Row, the city’s premiere shopping street, you can find everything from posh to modern eco-conscious fashion, to luxury athletic-wear shops. You can also discover cutting-edge modern furniture.

If you’re hungry, the dining scene is enriched with spots like Her Place Supper Club, Bolo, and Cherry Street Tavern.

Center City West is also the original home of Philly’s urban cliff dwellers. This distinction has grown considerably, thanks to a number of recent additions. Another new tower is set to break ground in the neighborhood soon, as well.
