African American Museum in Philadelphia President, CEO Dr. Ashley Jordan Named to 2024 Philadelphia Titan 100 List

Ashley Jordan, President and CEO of the African American Museum in Philadelphia, has been named to the Philadelphia Titan 100 list of top executives and CEOs in the region.

The 2024 Philadelphia Titan 100 list has been released, and it features the name of Dr. Ashley Jordan, president and CEO of the African American Museum in Philadelphia.

The Titan 100 program recognizes the top 100 CEOs and C-level executives throughout the country. Each year, the program selects 100 executives who are the most accomplished business leaders in their industry using criteria that includes demonstrating exceptional leadership, vision, and passion.

Jordan has served as President and CEO of the African American Museum in Philadelphia since September 2021. 

Prior to joining AAMP, she served in other roles, such as Senior Director of Development at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Executive Director for the Evansville African American Museum in Evansville, Indiana. She’s also held several curator positions for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio.

In addition to her museum work, Jordan has also served as an adjunct professor at North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio.

She is a graduate of Kent State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in political science. Jordan also holds a master’s degree in Public History and a doctorate in United States History, both from Howard University.

The Titan 100 honor is just the latest professional award Jordan will be receiving. 

Throughout her career, she has received a number of professional, academic and civic awards throughout her career, including the Pace Setter Award from the Association of African American Museums, the Black Excellence Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), as well as multiple doctoral fellowships from the Filson Historical Society and the Kentucky Historical Society

Jordan, along with the 99 other honorees in the Philadelphia region, will be honored during its annual awards ceremony.

The 2024 Philadelphia Titan 100 Awards is set to take place Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia
