Kouklet Brazilian Bakehouse brings a taste of Brazil to South Philadelphia with its delicious cake rolls, doughnuts, savory tarts, and so much more, reports Bob Kelly for FOX 29.

Mardhory Santos-Cepeda, the owner of Kouklet Brazilian Bakehouse, started her business five years ago, making cake rolls and selling them at farmers markets.

“It’s very traditional from the northeast of Brazil, and it’s something that I’m in love with,” she said of the cake rolls.

The traditional Brazilian sweet has proven to be a big hit with Philadelphians, as well.

Another local favorite is Brazilian donuts, which are available in several flavors, including blueberry with cheesecake, rice pudding with mango, and traditional.

There are also several pastries for those who may not be in the mood for something sweet, such as the tapioca cheese bread and savory tarts.

There is an extra level of excitement at the eatery since the Philadelphia Eagles will be playing their first game of the season in Sao Paulo against the Green Bay Packers.

“Everyone is really looking forward to experience all that,” said Santos-Cepeda, “and we can’t wait.”

The bakery will also have several specials prepared in honor of the upcoming occasion.
