Blue Sole Shoes on Chestnut Street is a Manifestation of Owner Steve Jamison’s Lifelong Dream

Steve Jamison is the owner of Blue Sole Shoes in Center City. Opened in 2007, the store has evolved into a premier destination that celebrates the art of men's style.

Blue Sole Shoes, located on Chestnut Street in Center City, is a premier destination that celebrates the art of men’s style, writes Lindsey Nolen for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The boutique is the manifestation of the owner Steve Jamison’s lifelong dream. It showcases an extensive curation of high-end shoes, as well as clothing and accessories from around the world.

Jamison became passionate about shoes at a young age, after receiving a gift from his mother: a pair of brown and cream Pierre Cardin shoes. He recalled putting them on and then suddenly having people shower him with praise. He immediately decided he was going to become a business owner.

“I always wanted to own a retail store, my own shoe store specifically,” he said.

Jamison opened his store in 2007 with help from TD Bank, after spending years getting experience in retail at various boutiques and department stores. And despite the Great Recession, Blue Sole Shoes managed to establish itself as a Philadelphia icon.

Today, the store has evolved into a one-stop shop for gentlemen’s fashion.

As he looks ahead, Jamison hopes to expand Blue Sole Shoes’ physical footprint and eventually open a second location.
