Enjoy These Various Food Classes and Workshops in Philadelphia

Mom-Mom’s Kitchen Pierogi-al School features a class on how to make pierogis.

All across Pennsylvania there are interactive workshops and classes to help you make, taste, and enjoy different kinds of food in supportive and fun environments, writes Emily Kovach for PA Eats.

Philadelphia isn’t short on such locations.

An example is Mom-Mom’s Kitchen Pierogi-al School in Northeast Philadelphia.

A series of classes are held on Thursday evenings at the Frankford Arsenal Building 39. Each two-hour class teaches you how to pinch, boil, and cook pierogies and participants also get to take home what they make.

Philly Cheese School in the Italian Market is all about cheese. For those who are newer to the cheese world, a Cheese Basics Class is held multiple times per month where an industry professional guides the participants through the basics of cheese and later share information about each cheese’s producer, style, pairing tips, and more.

Not too far is Le Caveau Wine School. Typically a place to enjoy a nice glass of wine, on Thursday evenings, Le Caveau shape-shifts into a wine school with a rotating monthly theme.

Twice a year, Kerry McKenzie, owner and head cider maker at Hale & True Cider Co., offers hands-on cider-making workshops that teach participants how to make cider at home.
