Pennsylvania has its share of farm-to-table restaurants with chefs using their culinary creativity to make memorable meals with locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, writes Ellery Weil for The Keystone.
Philadelphia has two such notable farm-to-table restaurants.
One of them is Vedge in the heart of Philly in Center City.
The highly-acclaimed farm-to-table vegan restaurant is a commodity for vegans, vegetarians, and fans of fine dining alike.
Vedge offers a market-inspired menu that changes seasonally. Some of its classics include their portobello carpaccio and spicy Persian cucumbers with peanuts and fried tofu.
The drink menu features an extensive list of natural wines, craft beers and signature cocktails.
Talula’s Garden in Washington Square features a creative, Mid-Atlantic seasonal menu inside a friendly setting.
Its farm-to-table ingredients make a fun menu with takes on regional classics like miso-accented mushroom soup and lemon brulee spatchcock chicken.
If you’re looking for a snack, Talula’s Garden also houses a cheese bar with a “maitre fromager” sourcing dairy treats. There are also Mid-Atlantic craft beers on tap.
