Walmart Investing Big in Montco with Store Remodels and Faster Shopping Tech

Walmart will remodel three Montgomery County stores, bringing faster shopping, updated layouts, and expanded offerings to local customers.

Walmart is bringing a wave of upgrades to Montgomery County, with three local stores set to undergo renovations as part of a broader statewide modernization effort, writes Donna Rovins for The Reporter.

The retail giant announced plans to remodel 32 stores across Pennsylvania, including locations in Lower Salford Township, Hatfield, and Cheltenham Township. The updates are designed to improve both in-store and online shopping experiences. Redesigns will focus on speed, convenience, and expanding product offerings.

Renovations are already underway at the Lower Salford Township location, and are expected to wrap up this summer. The stores in Hatfield and Cheltenham Township are scheduled to begin upgrades later this summer, with each project expected to take three to four months.

Walmart says the remodels will include refreshed store layouts, upgraded technology, and enhancements that allow customers to shop more efficiently. Shoppers can also expect delivery in as little as an hour. The company also plans to expand its selection of healthier foods and trending items.

The investment is part of Walmart’s larger commitment to Pennsylvania, where it has spent more than $518 million upgrading stores over the past five years.

Alongside these improvements, Walmart highlighted its ongoing community support, including millions in donations to nonprofits and food assistance programs across the state.
