RKL Welcomes New Partners, Practice Leader

RKL has admitted Joel Harnly, Gregory Harp, Lindsey Marchant, and Nolan Myers to the firm’s partnership. Matt Piatt has also been named a Practice Leader for RKL’s State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice.

Harnly, CPA, joins the partnership in RKL’s Tax Services Group. He works with companies and their owners to identify tax savings opportunities and plan for future efficiencies and growth. He primarily advises closely held and family-owned businesses. He also has experience working with private equity on structuring deals and navigating tax consequences for mergers and acquisitions. Harnly brings nearly a decade of experience in public accounting and previous experience in agricultural management to the partnership.

Harp, CPA, is a partner in RKL’s Audit Services Group. He joins the partnership with more than 25 years of experience in public accounting. He serves clients in the manufacturing, distribution, and construction industries, particularly those with international operations or complex ownership structures. Harp has extensive knowledge and experience performing audits, reviews, compilations, and other services under U.S. GAAP for privately held companies and venture capital/private equity-backed companies ranging from $5 million to $250 million in revenues.

Marchant, CPA, is a partner in RKL’s Senior Living Services Consulting Group. In her role, she pairs her financial acumen and strategic mindset to help clients navigate the ever-changing financial and regulatory environment and position them for success. Marchant has been serving the senior living industry throughout her career and brings expertise in providing outsourced finance department assistance, GL system implementations, preparation of benchmarking studies, preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, and conducting financial statement and HUD compliance audits.

Myers, CPA, joins the partnership in RKL’s Small Business Services Group. He advises closely held businesses, providing attestation services and tax services to companies in the manufacturing and distribution industry, as well as the real estate development and construction industry. Myers also works on employee benefit plan audits and is a member of the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Industry Group, as well as the firm’s Real Estate and Construction Industry Group.

Piatt, CPA, J.D., is a Practice Leader for RKL’s State and Local Tax (SALT) Services Group. His expertise spans a range of tax categories, including income, franchise, gross receipts, and sales and use tax. Piatt’s services are wide-ranging and include nexus studies, voluntary disclosure agreements, taxability determinations, sourcing/apportionment issues, SALT M&A due diligence, and return review. He has substantial experience working with private equity, strategic buyers, and closely held businesses.
