Bryn Mawr’s Michael Rubin Expands His Sports Empire

Bryn Mawr native Michael Rubin expands Fanatics into entertainment with Fanatics Studios and major deals with ESPN, WWE and MLB.

Michael Rubin is pushing his Fanatics empire into a bold new arena: entertainment, writes Alex Weprin for The Hollywood Reporter.

The Bryn Mawr native’s sports powerhouse Fanatics has partnered with OBB Media to launch Fanatics Studios, a full-scale content arm that will produce everything from live events and docuseries to scripted shows and feature films. The new studio debuts with heavyweight partnerships already in place, including the LA28 Olympic Games, ESPN, WWE, and Major League Baseball.

OBB founder Michael D. Ratner will serve as CEO of Fanatics Studios. He says the venture is launching with nine figures in projected first-year revenue, signaling this is far more than a vanity play. Early projects include Olympic-related films, ESPN programming such as the 2026 ESPYs, WWE digital shows, and an MLB docuseries centered on the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

For Rubin, the move feels like a natural evolution. From merchandise and collectibles to betting and now media, Fanatics continues to weave itself deeper into every corner of sports culture — powered by Rubin’s unmatched relationships and vision.

As Fanatics Studios takes flight, Bryn Mawr’s most famous billionaire is once again proving that his ambitions, like his influence, only keep climbing.
