As students and teachers head back to classrooms after the holiday break, there’s a renewed focus on the educators who keep schools moving forward, often with limited resources and little recognition.

That’s why Citadel Credit Union is issuing a final call for nominations for its Citadel Heart of Learning Awards, a long-running program that provides direct grant funding to K-12 teachers across Greater Philadelphia. The nomination deadline is Thursday, Jan. 15, just as schools settle back into routine for the new year.

Now in its 25th year, CHOLA has awarded nearly $600,000 in grants to educators who go above and beyond for their students, often paying out of pocket for classroom supplies, innovative programming, or student support initiatives. Each year, dozens of local teachers are surprised with funding they can put to immediate use in their classrooms.

With back-to-school momentum, post-holiday resets, and educators already planning for the spring semester, this is a timely opportunity to spotlight teachers and give parents, students, and community members a simple way to say thank you.
