How a Fort Washington Startup Fixed a Plumber’s 100-Calls-a-Day Problem

Fort Washington’s Shwego is helping Philly-area contractors ditch paper systems with a simple, real-time dispatching and scheduling app.

A Fort Washington tech start-up is making big waves in the region’s home-service world. Shwego, launched last year by entrepreneurs Sam Puleo and Junny Kim, offers a streamlined scheduling and dispatching app built specifically for small contractors — from plumbers and HVAC crews to electricians and movers serving Philadelphia’s rowhouses and the surrounding suburbs.

The idea was born from frustration with bloated enterprise software carrying Silicon Valley-sized price tags. Shwego instead leans hard into simplicity, giving tradespeople tools for quoting, scheduling, invoicing, and real-time tracking without the feature overload. Its first major client, Warminster-based Express Drains, became the proving ground.

Founder Ryan Larrimore said the app turned his once chaotic, paper-heavy workflow — including 100 service calls a day — into a clean digital system that saves hours each night.

Backed by developers overseas and tested with local crews across the region, Shwego rolled out commercially in late 2024. Puleo and Kim, both balancing family life and long workdays, are now adding features such as mobile payments, QuickBooks integration, and enhanced calendars as demand grows.

With more Philly-area plumbers, contractors, and building managers adopting the platform, Shwego is positioning itself as Montco’s homegrown alternative to big-tech software — built for small companies that just need tools that work.
