Jubilant Therapeutics, a Yardley-based biopharmaceutical company focused on cancer and autoimmune disease treatments, has named Daniel J. O’Connor to be its new CEO, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

O’Connor brings with him more than thirty years of executive experience in the life sciences industry. He previously led Ambryx Biopharma, a San Diego biopharmaceutical firm acquired by Johnson & Johnson for $2 billion in 2024.

Prior to that, he co-founded and served as CEO of Larkspur Health Acquisition, a special purpose acquisition company that focuses on biotechnology.

He was also CEO of OncoSec of Pennington and Advaxis of Princeton, both New Jersey biotechnology companies, and served as senior vice president and general counsel at ImClone Systems, also in New Jersey.

“[O’Connor’s] extensive experience in building and scaling biopharmaceutical companies, combined with his deep expertise in oncology and strategic partnerships, will be instrumental in advancing our mission to deliver transformative therapies to patients,” said Hari Bhartia, Jubilant’s chairman.

O’Connor assumed the CEO role on Dec. 1, succeeding Syed Kazmi, a former Novartis executive who led Jubilant since the privately held company was founded six years ago. Kazmi departed Jubilant in August.
