TD Bank has announced its plans to close 51 branches across 12 U.S. states, including six in the Philadelphia area, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.
Of the six area branches scheduled to close, two are in Philadelphia proper. They are the locations at 399 Market Street in Old City and 9996 Haldeman Avenue in Bustleton, respectively.
TD Bank is one of the largest financial institutions in the United States, and part of its reason to shutter several locations is to adhere to its more digital-centric retail distribution model.
Laura Nitti, TD Bank’s retail market for Metro Pennsylvania and South Jersey, said the decision to close branches is “our normal course of action annually as we continue to evolve with the customer needs.”
All the closures will happen by Jan. 29. 2026.
After all the aforementioned branches close, TD will have about 71 locations left in Pennsylvania.
TD had already closed a Philadelphia location in Chestnut Hill back in March 2025.
“As part of our normal business practices, we regularly evaluate existing TD Bank stores, which may result in some closures, consolidations, or relocations as we look for opportunities to better align our network of stores with customer needs and preferences,” TD Bank said in a statement at the time.
