New York-based Mirbeau Hospitality Services has purchased the 44-acre Greystone Hall in West Chester for $6.5 million, and intends to transform it into a luxury boutique resort and spa, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Earlier this month, the company finalized the purchase of the property, which features a three-story mansion, a garage, and a carriage house. The land was originally part of the 441-acre Greystone estate and had been owned by the Jerrehian family since 1942.
Mirbeau initially considered purchasing the property in 2024, but, according to partner Jonathan Dal Pos, timing issues with the owners delayed the process. Discussions resumed in late September to move the potential acquisition forward.
“We always recognized that this really was a property that seemingly was meant for our brand and our concept,” said Dal Pos. “So we were really glad to see the opportunity for the deal to come back together.”
The final sale price of $6.5 million is roughly 27 percent below the original $9 million asking price for the 118-year-old Greystone Hall that was originally listed in fall 2022. The property was then re-listed for $8 million after the initial Mirbeau deal fell through.
