Delaware County trekkers and trail enthusiasts now have a new resource in an interactive, online database for maps and real-time status updates of the county’s evolving trail system, writes Kenny Cooper for WHYY.
The Delaware County Primary Trail Network Information Hub debuted earlier this month.
“This new tool is just another fantastic tool that we are introducing to help our residents and visitors maximize their experience with our trail system and the places they connect,” said Councilmember Elaine Paul Schaefer.
Serving as an all-in-one shortcut, the information hub eliminates the need to browse the entire county website in order to find scattered pieces of information.
Delaware County currently has over 45 miles of trails already open to the public, with roughly 12 more miles either under construction or in the design phase. A further 78 miles of trails are in the feasibility or planning stage.
“In the last five years, Delaware County has really upped its game in trail development and in investing in our parks and our open spaces,” said Schaefer.
