Did You Know the Current President of Wawa is a Bucks County Native?

Brian Schaller, a Bucks County native, is the current president of Wawa, one of the largest privately held companies in the nation.

Brian Schaller, who grew up in Buckingham Township, is the current president of Wawa, one of the largest privately held companies in the nation, writes Tom Sofield for the New Hope Free Press.

Schaller started his Wawa career 23 years ago in the accounting department and has progressed through leadership roles since then. For the Bucks County native, his career path was not primarily driven by ambition for the top position but by finding a company aligned with his values.

“It’s just a great culture that what we try to do is find people that the values match and they can be their best selves,” he said. “And you put that together and it’s just a company with a great run.”

Wawa operates as a 41 percent associate-owned company and ranks as the 20th largest privately held company in the United States by revenue. The company brings in $18.84 billion in revenue and owns nearly 1,150 locations.

Schaller noted that his connection to Bucks County is as strong as ever and announced that the company sees the area as a key market.

“We love Bucks County,” he said. “We want to serve Bucks County. Getting them stores, we’re working feverishly to get them open at places like this because we think there’s demand here that we need that we could serve and make a difference with customers.”
