Philadelphia is experiencing a tech renaissance, becoming a hub increasingly recognized worldwide for its innovation and local talent, writes Grace Francisco for Technical.ly.

The city has a $76 billion ecosystem value, well above the global average, and recorded $3.3 billion in VC funding in 2024, up 37.5 percent year over year. Philadelphia also ranks No. 13 globally in the 2025 Startup Ecosystem Rankings, rising 12 spots from last year.

Pennsylvania is currently making huge progress in the sector, transforming into an AI-powered, energy-backed tech corridor that will further strengthen the Philadelphia region and advance its already thriving ecosystem.

Another effective strategy would be to turn alumni companies like Gopuff and dbt Labs into mentors and investors.
