National apartment developer, Greystar, is eyeing another major project in King of Prussia, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The company has filed plans to demolish an 85,000-square-foot aging office building at 720 Vandenburg Road. In its place, they will construct a six-story, 205-unit apartment complex.
The U-shaped development would include a central pool and courtyard, along with nearly 5,800 square feet of amenities. Plans call for a mix of 114 one-bedroom units, 87 two-bedrooms, and four three-bedrooms. More than half of the apartments would feature balconies. A parking podium and surrounding lots would provide 300 total spaces.
The project site is just off West Valley Forge Road and sits across from the 313-unit Park Square complex. It is within minutes of the King of Prussia Mall and the Schuylkill River Trail. The Montgomery County Planning Commission reviewed the proposal this summer, noting it “generally supports” the development. A conditional use hearing before the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors is scheduled for September 11.
Greystar is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and is the nation’s largest multifamily developer. Locally, it manages Matson Mill in Conshohocken and two other properties in King of Prussia.
