Independent bookstores serve a crucial role in our communities, from providing culture and community to generating jobs and promoting literacy.
In Philadelphia, there are countless bookstores that fulfill the needs of book lovers of all kind.
However, one particular bookstore in Manayunk, is almost a haven for romantic novel lovers, writes the American Booksellers Association for USA Today.
Cupid’s Bookshop is a relative newcomer to Philly’s independent bookstore scene, opening its doors on April 24, 2025.
The AAPI-owned shop offers vibrancy and inclusiveness within its space, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in its multitude of romantic love stories.
From slow-burn contemporary novels to paranormal romances and everything in between, Cupid’s Bookshop has a full range of quality selections.
Cupid’s Bookstore owner Tina Long has long had a passion for storytelling and representation. Coupled with the desire to create a committed space for romance readers, it became the catalyst for the new store.
“Whether you’re a seasoned romance reader or new to the genre, Cupid’s Bookshop is your haven for all things love,” Long said.
For her, shopping at Cupid’s Bookshop transcends more than simply buying a book. It’s also about supporting a small business and local family while fostering economic growth.
