The Brandywine Alumni Society will be a sponsor for “Dining Under the Stars” – a weekly outdoor dining event held on Wednesday evenings on State Street in Media throughout September, writes Christina Billie for Penn State Brandywine.
As part of the Media community, the Brandywine Alumni Society is an event sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.
“The Brandywine Alumni Society has proudly sponsored ‘Dining Under the Stars’ for the past three years, and it has quickly become one of our favorite events,” said Dana Hallahan, assistant director of alumni relations at Penn State Brandywine.
“We love setting up our table on State Street, connecting with local Penn State alumni and sharing with the community the many resources Brandywine has to offer, such as the LaunchBox and the library,” Hallahan added. “Our group truly enjoys building these connections, increasing our campus visibility, and spreading the ‘We Are’ spirit.”
This is one of Media’s larger events throughout the year, said Daniela Glaviano, Brandywine Alumni Society president, adding how important the event is not only for the group but for Penn State Brandywine as a whole.
“Dining Under the Stars is an opportunity for the Brandywine Alumni Society to be in the community and get to know other alumni. It’s a way for us to network with those who may be interested in joining us,” said Glaviano. “It’s also a way for people who don’t know or understand how Commonwealth Campuses work to learn about them so they or their children will consider attending one in the future. We want to give back to Penn State Brandywine for all it has done for us.”
The Brandywine Alumni Society table at “Dining Under the Stars” will be stationed near 24-26 W. State Street throughout September and will feature a different Brandywine campus unit each week.
Brandywine Admissions and University Libraries will be represented on Sept. 3; the Brandywine LaunchBox will be represented on Sept. 10; and Brandywine Academic Affairs will be showcasing faculty and student research on Sept. 18.
