Ron Jaworski, Owner of Downingtown Country Club, Expands Business with New Sports Bar

Ron Jaworski, who was previously a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, named the new restaurant 7 Tap-Tavern after his jersey number.

Downingtown County Club owner Ron Jaworski has expanded his restaurant business with the new 7-Tap Tavern, writes Ben Mace for Golfweek.

Jaworski, who was previously a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, recently opened 7-Tap Tavern at Back Creek Golf Club. The restaurant name is a reference to the No. 7 jersey worn by Jaworski during his football career.

The restaurant and sports bar is located north of Middletown in Delaware. The staff hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 18 to celebrate the grand opening.

Guests do not have to be Back Creek Golf Club members to enjoy the new restaurant.

7-Tap Tavern’s menu features seasonal ingredients for both lunch and dinner options. In renovating the golf club’s former restaurant, The Grille, the team added new flooring, TV’s, furniture, and décor, in addition to a refurbished outdoor terrace.

After purchasing the club in 2023, Jaworski wanted the space to serve both golfers and casual diners by making the space open to the general public.

In a recent press release, Jaworski said, “We’ve created a place where everyone feels welcome—not just golfers—and where food, drink and good times come together in an unforgettable setting overlooking Back Creek Golf Club.”
