Podcaster Alex Cooper Reveals Passion for Content Creation Began in Bucks County

Alex Cooper’s new documentary premiered on streaming on June 10 and discusses her Bucks County childhood and rise to fame.

Alex Cooper, host of the acclaimed podcast Call Her Daddy, shares her life journey in a new documentary directed by Russo-Young called Call Her Alex, writes Kayla Webley Adler for ELLE

The documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9 and aired on Hulu on June 10. In it, Cooper discussed her childhood in Bucks County and how her love for content creation began.

Cooper recalled how she spent her childhood with her father, who was a producer for the Philadelphia Flyers. It was during this time that she fell in love with the idea of producing her own content.

She would spend hours at home with her best friends, Kristy and Lauren, making music videos and acting out movies and plays.

During their little production of The Devil Wears Prada, Cooper acted as producer, director, videographer and their personal lighting technician. She went on to teach herself video editing in Adobe Premiere before the age of ten.

“I was obsessed with editing. I loved having control over the timing and the pacing and the comedy,” Cooper said. “Creating these worlds that I had control over, was the place where I felt 100 percent myself.”
