The MLB has 30 teams and front offices all competing with one another to put their ball club in position to be the last team standing to hoist the World Series trophy at the end of the season.
With that being said, The Athletic has polled 40 of the top decision-makers from across the sport of basketball to rank the top front offices in the league, writes Tyler Kepner for The Athletic.
The Philadelphia Phillies ranked tied for sixth in the rankings along with the Atlanta Braves.
In the four seasons since Dave Dombrowski took over as the Phillies’ president of baseball operations, the team has increased its win totals each year.
The Phillies have gone from 82 wins to 87, to 90, and then 95 this past season.
Dombrowski’s résumé in 30+ years as an executive includes two World Series wins with two different teams. His teams have also made three other World Series appearances, including the Phillies in 2022.
“No matter what market he’s in, he wins,” one National League GM said of Dombrowski.
League executives also praise Dombrowski’s ability to fortify his roster without giving up top prospects and having a keen eye for elite talent.
