Harcum College’s Annual Student Fashion Show ‘Homecoming’ Theme Celebrates Identity and Growth

The much-anticipated Annual Student Fashion Show returns to Harcum College on Friday, Apr. 25 in Klein Hall at the Bryn Mawr Campus. Doors open at 7:00, and the show steps off at 8:00 PM.

The theme of the show, “Homecoming,” celebrates identity, growth, and the journey back to where it all began. This year’s show reflects a personal creative evolution and the transformative power of fashion.

For graduating designers, “Homecoming” symbolizes a return to the essence of their artistic voices, honoring the past while boldly stepping into the future. This year’s collections explore unique perspectives, such as redefining bridal wear for the nontraditional bride by creating gowns that seamlessly transition into elegant evening or bridal wear. Others take inspiration from unexpected places, like re-imagining the classic 101 Dalmatians aesthetic by transforming Dalmatian spots into intricate textile patterns.

Through “Homecoming,” each designer tells a story of self-discovery, influences, and the path that led them to this defining moment on the runway. This show isn’t just a presentation — it’s a reminder of the creativity, passion, and dreams that brought them to Harcum.

Harcum Fashion students have a unique opportunity to showcase their work on the runway beginning with their first year; other institutions only allow upperclassmen’s work to be featured. The students spend the entire year planning and sharing their designs for critiques from industry professionals, culminating in the presentation of their final polished work in the show.

A host of industry professionals from the Philadelphia Fashion Community are attending the show to give students the most extensive showcase, which often results in opportunities to debut their work at larger professional venues such as the Philly and New York Fashion Weeks.

Tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for students, and a smaller number of $50 VIP seats are available but going fast. Tickets can be purchased online here.
