Elk Creek Farm in New Hope, with pre-Revolutionary War roots, has recently hit the market for $10.5 million, making it the most expensive individual property in the current Bucks County housing market, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The property, which totals 188 acres, was part of the original William Penn land grant. It is currently being used as a cattle breeding farm for Black Angus. The farm is being marketed as both a turnkey agricultural opportunity and a multi-generational estate.
The property, owned by philanthropist James Maguire, the founder of Philadelphia Insurance as well as the Maguire Foundation, has around a dozen outbuildings, including four living spaces. Among them is the main home with its five bedrooms and four bathrooms, which dates back to 1750 and spans over 3,800 square feet.
A Victorian guest home, a bank barn with a loft apartment, and a cottage round out the living spaces.
Other highlights on the property include a heated pool with a pool house, a lighted tennis court, and several greenhouses, along with three beautiful ponds.
