Antonio’s Deli in South Philadelphia is best known for its veggie hoagie made with breaded baked eggplant, sweet peppers, minced broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone. The prosciutto-laced Olde Italian is one of its most popular meaty options.
Castellino’s Italian Market in Fishtown offers delicious hoagies made with sliced-to-order meats and quality fillings that cannot be found at many other shops. The Fig Pig, made with fig jam, prosciutto, mascarpone, and sweet roasted red peppers, is a local favorite.
South Philadelphia’s Cosmi’s Deli is famous for its Italian hoagie, made with mortadella, hot capicola, salami, ham, and provolone — a best-seller for decades.
Meanwhile, Dattilo’s Delicatessen in Northeast Philadelphia is an old-fashioned Italian deli that has been turning out tasty hoagies for five decades. The most popular offering is the Main Event with Genoa salami, pepperoni, and hot capicola over provolone, marinated artichoke hearts and house-made roasted peppers.
Farina Di Vita in Queen Village offers a unique turkey hoagie with pepper turkey, Cooper Sharp, and sliced onions.
