Bensalem-based Philly Pretzel Factory has once again experienced a sales surge due to the Philadelphia Eagles’ performances and their Super Bowl run, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“Our food is a celebration food, so when people are in a good mood, it’s phenomenal,” said Philly Pretzel Factory CEO Dan DiZio.
He added that the company is riding an “all-time high” thanks to the energy in Philadelphia right now.
In the lead-up to the Super Bowl, Philly Pretzel Factory recorded its biggest week of business in history across its 90 regional stores. DiZio said that the many orders for pep rallies and other events throughout the region during the pre-Super Bowl week already separated this year’s game from past ones.
That is in addition to the actual Super Bowl Sunday, when the company has its biggest day of sales each year, whether the Eagles are playing or not.
“The big difference maker is when the Eagles are in the Super Bowl,” said DiZio. “The week leading up to the Super Bowl is — the whole week is amazing.”
The company estimates that it produced over 2 million pretzels for game day.
