As the NFL puts together its schedule for the 2026 season, the league is reportedly planning to schedule a regular season game in Australia, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles, writes Kevin McGuire for Nittany LionsWire.
According to reports, the NFL is planning to have a multi-game scheduling plan that includes the Eagles playing against the Los Angeles Rams.
It would be the first NFL game to ever be played in the continent of Australia.
The plan is part of the league’s efforts to branch out to new territories across the world.
The Australia game would be the second time in three seasons where the Eagles played an international game. The team’s 2024 season opener against the Green Bay Packers was played in Brazil.
The Eagles, especially running back Saquon Barkley, have had nice success against the Rams recently.
During the most recent regular season, Barkley rushed for a career-high 255 yards over the Rams. He followed that up just over a month later with 205 rushing yards against the Rams to help the Eagles reach the NFC Championship Game.
The Australia game would also mark a homecoming for offensive tackle, Jordan Mailata.
