Love and Hair Peace Salon is one-of-a-kind for doing much more for its clients than just changing their hair style, reports Yukare Nakayama for NBC 10 Philadelphia.
“It’s a private salon, for women who are experiencing hair loss,” Cassie Angelucci, the salon’s owner, said. “Whether it’s either just help them feel confident aesthetically, or if we’re actually trying to help them restore and regrow their natural hair if possible.”
Angelucci combines hair restoration and a general salon. This effectively offers treatments, extensions, and hair pieces to guests experiencing hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, or hair pulling disorders.
She was inspired to pursue this venture 14 years ago, when Angelucci herself was facing hair loss issues and couldn’t find a hair restoration business that felt warm and light.
According to the American Hair Loss Association, women comprise 40 percent of Americans experiencing hair loss.
Angelucci wants her salon to be a safe haven for locals facing this challenge.
It has been exactly that for Anne Malmud, a six-year client who praises the salon for being a space that is full of love and understanding.
