Jack and Red Thomas, 18-year-old twins from Malvern, recently made a donation to Philadelphia-based program, “Pamper and Diaper My Baby,” reports Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.
The Thomas twins are the founders of “Duo for Diapers,” an organization that collects and donates diapers to diaper banks.
Their journey started in 2023 and was sparked by the simple desire to help their community.
“We did research and we found out that diapers are a pretty basic necessity that are expensive for people in need,” said Red. “If they don’t have diapers, they’re allowed to go to daycare, which means parents can’t go to work, which just continues the cycle of poverty.”
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, the inability to afford diapers could make 1-in-4 parents miss work or school.
Since its launch, “Duo for Diapers” has donated around 12,000 diapers.
Recently, the Thomas twins donated to the mother-daughter led program, “Pamper and Diaper My Baby.” The program helps lower-income families with free diapers, pull-ups, and baby wipes.
“Speaking from a mother myself, diapers are very hard to come by and we just need all the help that we can get,” said Sa’adia Washington, vice president of “Pamper and Diaper My Baby.”
