Lobo Mau is owned and operated by siblings, Nicole and Jordan Haddad, who are Brazilian entrepreneurs dedicated to zero-waste practices.

Siblings Nicole and Jordan Haddad are the co-operators of Lobo Mau, a small clothing business in Philadelphia, reports Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.

The siblings are of Brazilian heritage, and can trace their entrepreneurial aspirations back to their parents, both of which are jazz musicians.

Growing up, Nicole would go to dressmakers in Brazil to have clothing designed for her. Always enamored with the fashion in Brazil, she wanted to bring some of it back to the states.

Nicole started her own line shortly after college. The name “Lobo Mau” is Portuguese for “big bad wolf.”

“I just wanted to make clothing that was bold, and fierce, and unapologetic,” Nicole added.

About 8 years after launching the company, her brother Jordan decided to help out and later join.

He highlighted that Lobo Mau is a zero-waste brand.

“The fashion industry and fast fashion industry is just incredibly wasteful and polluting, and so we didn’t want to be a contributor,” Jordan said.

For the 7th or 8th time, the Haddad siblings will participate in the annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show, which will take place this year from November 15-17 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
