After hitting the market for the sixth time, former State Senator Vince Fumo’s home near the Art Museum has finally found its new owners, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia Magazine.
The estate sold for $2.6 million. The transaction was handled by John Bolaris, managing partner of Black Label Keller Williams Luxury at KW Empower, and Dan Deckelbaum, Black Label’s director of sales.
The 1885 Victorian manor sold for significantly less than its original asking price of $7 million. The price went down to $5.5 million the next three times it was put on the market. But despite this significantly discounted price, the home still sold for more than any other Art Museum-area townhouse in the last three years.
“It took us just under 60 days to find a buyer,” said Bolaris.
The home was snatched up by a couple who plan to use it as a multi-generational family residence and are prepared to make the renovations required to bring the residence into the here and now.
“They loved the home,” said Bolaris. “They felt like this was something really special for them, their family, relatives coming up to visit, picturing the holidays at the home.”
