One of America’s Most Charming Small Towns Is Right Across River

Small towns are a quintessential part of American life, that often have quaint shops and restaurants, fascinating histories, plenty of fun experiences, and gorgeous natural beauty, writes Lynn Coulter for HGTV.

According to HGTV’s new list, one of the 50 most charming small towns in America is right across the Delaware River: Lambertville, New Jersey.

Known as “The Antiques Capital of New Jersey,” Lambertville is home to many talented artists and crafters whose shops and galleries are nestled along its scenic river.

The town was founded in 1705 and currently has around 4,000 residents. It features beautiful federal townhouses and stunning Victorian homes, a restored train depot from the 19th century, Zagat-rated restaurants, and several award-winning hotels and B&Bs.

Meanwhile, shoppers have plenty of options to choose from as well and can find various treasures at The People’s Store Antiques and Design Center along with the many and varied other shops that can be found on Bridge, Main, and Union streets.
