The United Way of Bucks County can expand its facilities with a new site in Levittown, reports Dino Ciliberti for the Patch. A $2.9 million Community Project Funding Grant comes their way.
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick secured the grant introduced into the FY2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act. The initiative provides Congress with an opportunity to target federal funds for local projects and programs in their congressional districts. These programs will focus on addressing the most significant needs of the communities they represent.
The United Way of Bucks County plans to use the funds for its Healthy Eating and Living Partnership Center.
“The expansion of the HELP Center is a transformative investment in Bucks County’s future,” said Marissa Christie, United Way of Bucks County’s president and chief executive. “By providing essential resources, especially to Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) families – often those working in our schools, healthcare facilities, stores, and childcare centers – we’re ensuring that the people who keep our community running have the support they need to thrive.”
