New Exhibit Launches at National Liberty Museum Highlighting Origins of Free Speech in America

A new exhibition has been unveiled at the National Liberty Museum, which highlghts the origins of free speech in America.

The National Liberty Museum recently unveiled a new exhibit that centers around exploring the origins of freedom of speech.

The recently-unveiled exhibit is part of year-long initiative called, “The Year of Free Speech,” and a three-part series of exhibits that will explore the past, present, and future of the First Amendment right.

The first exhibit is titled, “Free Speech: Our Right, Our Responsibility,” and focuses on the origins and purposes of the right to free speech.

“The Year of Free Speech” is part of the museum’s new vision for the visitor experience, a strategy called, Past Present, Future, Always.

“It’s been about two-and-a-half, almost three years of the team working towards a new vision for this museum, and this new vision is coming to life … which is so fun,” said National Liberty Museum President and CEO Dr. Alaine Arnott at the unveiling.

The new exhibit allows visitors to trace the history of freedom of speech from its roots and to the present-day. With interactive displays, images, and text, visitors are also able to reflect on how vital free speech is in shaping the future of our nation.

The second and third exhibits of this series will be unveiled in the fall and next summer, respectively.
