Marcel Pratt, former City Solicitor of Philadelphia and current lawyer at Ballard Spahr married CNN anchor Rahel Solomon in a recent wedding at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, write Raven Brunner and Emily Strohm for People.
The wedding celebration honored all aspects of the newly-wed couple’s shared cultures. This includes Solomon’s Ethiopian roots to Pratt’s membership in Kappa Alpha Psi, the historically Black fraternity.
“The wedding was like a movie, everything and everyone looked so beautiful. The vows were so heartfelt, the music was great and we even had time to quickly enjoy dinner between photos,” said Solomon. “We truly experienced and enjoyed our wedding!”
Both Philadelphia natives, the couple decided to have their wedding at the Philadelphia Museum of Art because it was where they had their second date.
The couple had a second day cultural reception at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
For the second day, Solomon and Pratt wore Ethiopian wedding attire custom-made by Enku Design in Ethiopia and enjoyed Ethiopian food and dancing.
Pratt and Solomon got engaged in May 2023 after meeting one another at a professional networking event in Philly.
Now married, the couple is excited to “build a shared life together” and create new traditions with their friends and family.
