A new 81-unit residential project has recently been proposed in Overbrook, not far from the St. Joseph’s University campus, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new project would stand four stories tall with about 2,335 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
It would include 36 studio apartments, along with 45 one-bedroom units that range from 344 square feet to 553 square feet.
The project is called “Loft 63 Units” and the proposed developer is Newtown-based Rock Urban Management.
The proposed building would also include 24 parking spaces, a green roof, and amenity spaces, and sit three blocks away from the Overbrook SEPTA station.
Given its proximity to St. Joe’s, it would add to a 63rd Street corridor that offers popular off-campus housing options.
Rock Urban Management’s portfolio in Overbrook also includes “The Elm,” a 100-plus-unit development. Another eight-unit building adjacent to the same Overbrook SEPTA station was also developed by Rock Urban.
The new “Loft 63 Units” project is slated to go in front of Philadelphia’s Civic Design Review Committee on Tuesday, August 6.
