Philadelphia is the Most Walkable City in the United States

Philadelphia has been named the most walkable city in the United States for the second consecutive year.

USA Today has compiled a list of the 10 best walkable cities for tourists in the United States, and Philadelphia was atop the list for the second consecutive year.

The 10 cities were selected by a panel of travel experts and voted by readers as the best for their walkability during a visit. Each of the cities offer lots of things to do, places to eat, and places to stay. Each element is connected by pedestrian-friendly streets.

Philadelphia has each of these in droves.

“Philadelphia is beloved for its cultural and historical attractions, and its walkability is appreciated by residents and visitors. Tourists would likely most enjoy strolling Center City — home to the historic Old City and gorgeous Rittenhouse Square neighborhoods,” the publication writes.

Philadelphia managed to beat out other major U.S. cities, such as Boston, New York City, and Chicago.
