Flakely Gluten Free has introduced a new pastry ATM/vending machine that dispenses the bakery’s frozen croissants, bagels, cakes, and baguettes.

Manayunk bakery Flakely Gluten Free recently unveiled its first vending machine at the Salt & Vinegar store in the Italian Market, writes Franki Rudnesky for the PhillyVoice.

The “pastry ATM” will dispense the bakery’s frozen croissants, bagels, cakes, and baguettes.

For the vending machine, customers can use their credit card to open the door and grab any pastry they want from the freezer. Each item has a microchip, so each product that is taken from the machine gets charged to the card.

The ATM offers the bakery’s best-selling items on four shelves that can hold around 60 items. The frozen treats can be heated up at home or at work.

“I am most excited to increase access to our products during what would be considered ‘normal business hours,’ especially in South Philly where our biggest fan-base seems to be,” said Flakely owner Lila Colello.

The ATM will provide easier access to the bakery’s products, “which means a lot to me as a chef, and especially as a gluten-free baker who understands how difficult it can be to find quality baked goods for those suffering from celiac disease,” she added.
