Philadelphia Eagles Named Among the Most Improved NFL Teams Heading Into the 2024-25 Season
With most of free agency and the NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, NFL.com’s Jeffri Chadiha has ranked each of the team’s offseason activity and placed the Philadelphia Eagles’ toward the top.
He named the Eagles as the second-most improved team this offseason, writes Patrick McAvoy for Sports Illustrated.
After enduring a terrible end to the 2023 season, the Eagles made sure to be active in free agency, and strengthen its positional weaknesses and coaching staff.
“Having Kellen Moore calling plays on offense and Vic Fangio running the defense will make Nick Sirianni’s job as head coach much easier,” said Chadiha. “The signing of running back Saquon Barkley gives the offense another dynamic weapon while the defense added a disruptive edge rusher in Bryce Huff (to replace Haason Reddick) and a critical leader in the secondary (safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson returns to the team after spending last year in Detroit).”
A strong draft helped matters, as well.
“The squad needed more help for a woeful pass defense and ultimately landed two stellar defensive backs with its first two picks (Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean),” Chadiha added.
