Dozens of animals living in extremely poor conditions were rescued last month from a Coatesville home, including a duct-taped kitten missing a leg. Now some of them, including Roo the kitten are adopted to loving homes, writes Cherise Lynch for NBC 10 Philadelphia.
When she was found, Roo was just about a month old and weighed less than a pound.
She was rushed to the Brandywine Valley SPCA’s West Chester campus for emergency surgery and has been recovering. They had to make a cone for her with a paper plate after surgery because she was so tiny.
Roo was put into foster care where she loved to jump on furniture and race up and down the stairs. Her new owner recently suffered the loss of a beloved pet cat and knew that Roo was the one for her as soon as she heard the kitten’s story.
“Upon meeting Roo for the first time, Roo immediately curled up in the adopter’s arms the same way her previous cat used to, went to sleep, and was reluctant to be taken away from her. It was as though Roo chose her new home and when she was finally cleared medically to go to her forever home, we knew she already had her place picked out,” the shelter said.
