Philadelphia is the Best Place To Live in Pennsylvania, According to Local Real Estate Experts
Pennsylvania offers something for everyone.
With its strong economy, rich history, low taxes, lush landscapes, and bustling cities, the state continues to be a popular one for newcomers, writes Dobrina Zhekova for Travel + Leisure.
A group of local real estate experts ranked the top nine best places to live in Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia is atop the list.
“As the nation’s sixth-largest city, Philadelphia is a major economic hub in the Northeast, so it certainly doesn’t lack urban amenities in addition to all of its historical and cultural landmarks,” local real estate experts said.
According to Abby Trimborn, co-founder of Philly Property Group, the city’s prime location is among its biggest advantages.
Its relative proximity to both New York City and Washington D.C. afford residents access to two additional major job markets while also living in a city with a much more affordable cost of living.
Trimborn also noted that the 14 percent decrease in the demand for homes in Philadelphia is good news for potential buyers.
“We are currently positioned in ‘lower demand,’ which means it’s more favorable for buyers in this market,” she said.
According to data from Zillow, the median home value in the city is $215,593.
