The owners of South Fellini have written and recorded a new holiday anthem, writes Kristin Hunt for Phillyvoice.
The song is titled, “If You Give Me Seven Fishes” and celebrates the pescatarian spread many Italian-American families enjoy on Christmas Eve.
The “seven fishes” reference harkens back to the Catholic practice of abstaining from meat before a holy day.
To this end, Italian immigrants have resorted to going all-in on fish for their meals before a holy day.
In addition to writing and recording the song, the entrepreneurs also shot an official music video to go along with it.
The video was shot in the streets of the Italian Market in South Philadelphia, near Head House Square, and in an Acme parking lot.
South Fellini is an East Passyunk clothing store founded in 2016 by friends Tony Trov and Johnny Zito. They began their careers by creating original graphic novels for DC Entertainment and Image Comics.
